BASTILLE DAY TASTING
Jul 14, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Quick history lesson. Bastille Day commemorates the 1790 Fete de la Federation, held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison on July 14th, 1789. The anniversary of the storming of the Bastille was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern nation. Barrel Thief is just using it as an excuse to kick off our incredible French wine feature. Join us at both locations from 5-8pm for a selection of the best France has to offer. Only $5 to sample 10 wines! |

Beaux Freres Tasting w. Kurt Johnson
Jul 28, 2010 at 5:00 pm
If you love world class Pinot Noir from Oregon as much as we do, then you can not miss the opportunity to taste three of the best Pinots produced in Oregon with Beaux Freres Sales and Marketing Director Kurt Johnson. Plus, it's only $3!
Beaux Freres is one of Oregon's top producers and is owned in part by world-renowned wine critic Rober Parker (The Wine Advocate). The winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention with clean fermentations utilizing indigenous yeast. The wines are stored in French oak for 10 to 12 months adjusting the percentage of new oak to compliment the wine the vintage has given us. Beaux Freres is never racked until it is removed from barrel for bottling, which occurs without fining or filtration. These non-manipulative, uncompromising methods guarantee a wine that is the most natural and authentic vineyard expression possible.
Previous vintages demonstrate that these methods also allow Beaux Freres to develop significant perfume, weight, and texture in the bottle. For $3 you can taste three of these delicious wines, or if you would prefer, for a little bit more enjoy a half glass of two of the wines while enjoying a meal in our cafe.
We look forward to seeing you there. Reservations are never a bad idea for such a great tasting event. Please call 364.0144 to reserve your table. |
